For over five decades, the Bandukwala factory has been the driving force behind Vidarbha’s most spectacular celebrations. Operating under the strictest PESO (Central Government) safety guidelines, our facility is a place where master artisans pour generations of expertise into every single piece.
Take an exclusive look behind the scenes to see exactly how our two most iconic products—the legendary Sutli Bomb and the Mitthu Bomb—are meticulously crafted by hand, from raw, locally sourced materials to the final premium package.
Step 1: Paper Preparation
Every spectacular firework starts with a flawless structural foundation. Our manufacturing process proudly champions sustainability by sourcing massive quantities of recycled newspapers. These papers are sorted, graded, and carefully cut down to exact, specialized dimensions by our experienced preparation team.
This process is about much more than just shaping; the precise thickness and quality of the layered paper dictate the pressure resistance of the final casing. By ensuring complete uniformity in every cut, we guarantee that the outer shell will hold the exact amount of internal pressure needed to create that signature, earth-shaking Bandukwala sound.
The Iconic Sutli Bomb
The legendary Bandukwala Sutli Bomb is an absolute masterpiece of pyrotechnic craftsmanship. We begin by forming a highly stable, chemical core shell using premium, tested raw materials. This core is then handed over to our most skilled artisans, who tightly wrap it in traditional, high-tensile jute rope (sutli). This wrapping process requires immense hand strength and technique to achieve the maximum internal pressure required for a flawless burst.
Finally, the bombs are submerged in our signature vivid green dye and laid out in massive open-air grids for a strict, natural sun-drying process that cures them to perfection.
Elevating a classic—experience our all-new premium foil-wrapped edition. These are meticulously encased in vibrant metallic foil to protect against moisture and housed in their own exclusive, custom-designed box for the ultimate gifting experience.
The Mitthu Bomb
The Mitthu Bomb offers a highly specialized acoustic experience. Crafted using a unique, complex layering technique, this bomb is formed by grouping selected newspapers "onion-style" into a moderately thin, tightly packed cylinder. This distinctive shape allows the internal charge to compress perfectly, delivering a consistently sharp, crisp sound.
Once the cylindrical shape is flawlessly formed and cured, it is carefully hand-rolled in our custom-printed Bandukwala branding paper. Finally, to ensure they remain pristine and moisture-free, they are securely grouped and vacuum-sealed in protective polythene sets of four, ready to hit the shelves at Fataka Mall.
